The Gund Company has an immediate opening for an Entry-Level Machine Operator  (Composites) to join our team!


Shift: 6am - 2:30pm (M-F)

Starting Hourly Wage: $23.00+ per hour based on experience

Work location: Noblesville, IN

With 12 global facilities, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality products and excellent customer service. We are currently seeking an Entry-Level Machine Operator to join our team.

Job Summary Entry-Level Machine Operator (Composites)

 Implement the Production Fulfillment Process steps related to the manufacture of thermoset composite materials by operating manufacturing equipment that includes thermal presses. Ensures machinery is set up, works properly, and conforms with (and can produce materials that conform with) company quality, quantity, and efficiency standards. Sets up and operates one or more composites production lines under limited supervision to manufacture products of moderate complexity.


Essential Job Functions Entry-Level Machine Operator (Composites)

Form molded sheets of materials using thermal press machines.

Manufacture molded glass polyester sheets by laying up material to the desired thickness and spreading resin according to customer orders per instructions on customer work orders.

Use Scale, Weighing, and Mixing procedures to add resin & filler to prep resin for molding process.

Set up tooling, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal equipment performance, including stop block shimming, shear bar changes and machine parameter entry.

Trim/file and de-flash molded sheet edges and perform measuring and material inspections.

Perform in-process inspection according to standard procedures.

Perform routine daily machine maintenance including cleaning up and lubrication.

Other duties as assigned.

A High School Diploma or GED or combination of similar education and experience.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED with prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience.

Preferred

Prior experience in a manufacturing industry with mixing, batching or compounding equipment.

Production and processing knowledge of raw materials and product processing, quality control.

Quality Control Analysis - Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

Work Environment

This role is performed in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and chemicals.

Warm work environment all year round.

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.

The position may involve repetitive tasks and manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time.

Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform manual tasks as required.
