Where You Will Work

Located 100 miles northwest of Phoenix, Bagdad is home to the world's first commercial - scale concentrate leach processing facility, as well as one of the longest continuously operating solvent extraction/electrowinning plants in the world. What You Will Do
Under general supervision, work with other Sampler Technicians at a mine site to obtain and deliver consistent and accurate samples to the assay laboratory in a timely manner. As an Engineering Technician I, you support drilling and sampling operations by coordinating closely with dispatch, drilling, and blasting teams to determine required sampling locations. In this role, you obtain representative samples by following established SOPs, ensuring proper spacing, minimum sample weights, and accurate labeling, and assist with quality control by collecting and labeling duplicate samples for identified locations. You transport and deliver samples to the assay laboratory in a timely manner and may perform entry-level analytical laboratory tasks to prepare samples or assist with routine chemical analysis and reporting. You will provide technical support to ore control and surveying staff as required while verifying that sampling equipment is functional, operating properly, and cleaned after each use. You perform other duties are performed as required.
What You Bring To Freeport
  • One (1) year experience in an area or areas relevant to the assignment

Preferred Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of sampling equipment, processes, methods and techniques
  • Able to conduct preventive maintenance on assigned equipment
  • Skilled in planning, prioritizing and scheduling daily work assignments
  • Skill in safely using, maintaining and repairing specialized equipment to complete assigned duties, including GIS/GPS mapping techniques
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
  • Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Knowledge of site processes, equipment and infrastructure
  • Able to use a variety of computer software applications, especially Microsoft Office

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $21.00 - $29.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
