We are currently seeking resumes from qualified, responsible, self-sufficient, energetic Traffic Designer/EIT-1s for our Phoenix, Arizona office. The ideal candidate will be motivated to develop and build their personal knowledge and skills to assist with the growth and success of the office. Job Description:

Assisting senior design personnel in developing and completing designs and contract documents, including municipal and state projects for streets/highways/freeways. These can include street lighting, traffic signals, signing and pavement marking, and maintenance of traffic and will require coordination with interdisciplinary teams including roadway, drainage, utilities, structures, and field services. The candidate will also be required to prepare and check design calculations, quantities, cost estimates, and project plans.

Self-motivated, technically proficient, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills and is team-oriented. Travel periodically within Arizona and neighboring states, while being physically capable of performing fieldwork.

Job Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or a related field.
  • Holds an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate or able to obtain in 6 months of hire.
  • Minimum Experience: Entry level.
  • Experience using Open Roads Designer, MicroStation V8i, and/or Auto-CAD Civil 3D.
  • OpenRoads, Project Wise, Bluebeam, Sign-CAD, and SYNCHRO experience is a plus.
  • Have familiarity with traffic design guidelines and codes.
  • Experience with design calculations, preparation of quantities and cost estimates, preparation of special provisions, and preparation of project plans is desired.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
  • Valid Driver's License, with the ability to maintain insurability under the company's insurance carrier.
