Job description

Westlake Logistics, a GlobalTranz Agency, is looking for an experienced Freight Broker to join our growing team.

Applicants MUST have freight brokerage experience and an existing book of business or active shipper relationships. This is not an entry-level position.

The ideal candidate has established customer relationships, understands freight brokerage operations, and is ready to grow their business with the support, technology, carrier network, and resources available through GlobalTranz.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow an existing book of business
  • Develop new shipper relationships
  • Generate and manage freight opportunities
  • Quote and negotiate competitive freight rates
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and communication
  • Coordinate with operations to ensure shipments are handled successfully
  • Maintain accurate customer activity and pipeline information
  • Meet monthly sales and gross-margin goals

Requirements:

  • Freight brokerage/3PL experience required
  • Existing book of business or active shipper relationships required
  • Proven ability to generate freight revenue and gross margin
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills
  • Experience with FTL and LTL
  • Reefer and Flatbed experience is a plus
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills
  • Must be legally permitted to solicit and service any customers brought to Westlake Logistics

Compensation:

  • Competitive base + commission
  • Monthly performance incentives based on gross-margin production
