Role Overview

As our Social Media Coordinator, you will lead the digital strategy for our private psychiatry practice. Since our staff is focused on clinical care, we are looking for a proactive individual to build our online brand, manage our content calendar, and maintain an engaging, professional presence. You will be responsible for the "how" and "when" of our social media, while our clinical team will act as subject matter experts for final approval. Perfect for an aspiring creator looking to build a professional portfolio from the ground up.

Core Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Propose and implement an organic growth strategy across Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn to increase practice visibility and patient trust.
  • End-to-End Content Creation: Independently research mental health topics, draft high-quality copy, and design visual assets (static posts, Reels, and carousels) using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Calendar Management: Build and maintain a consistent 2-3x weekly posting schedule using tools like Buffer or Meta Business Suite.
  • Community Management: Monitor and respond to comments and messages in a HIPAA-compliant manner, ensuring a professional and empathetic tone at all times.
  • Performance Reporting: Track monthly engagement metrics and provide insights on what content resonates most with our audience.

Working in psychiatry requires the highest level of ethical behavior.

  • Uphold HIPAA Standards: Ensure no Protected Health Information (PHI) is ever disclosed in posts, comments, or images.
  • Clinical Review Workflow: Submit all content for clinical review 48 hours prior to posting to ensure medical accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Standardized Responses: Use practice-approved scripts for public interactions to avoid establishing doctor-patient relationships or offering medical advice online.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Independent Worker: Proven ability to manage projects from concept to completion with minimal daily supervision.
  • Strong Writing: Ability to translate complex psychiatric topics into accessible, supportive, and engaging content.
  • Social Media Savvy: Mastery of current trends, hashtag strategy, and platform algorithms.
  • Education: Junior or senior student or recent grad with a portfolio of work.

How to Apply

Please submit your resume and a portfolio of 3–5 social media samples (graphics + captions). In your application, briefly explain how you would handle a negative public review on a psychiatric practice's page while maintaining patient privacy.
