Summary

The Lab Operations Assistant I performs a wide variety of job duties that will provide technical and administrative support for the Cell Therapy Facility. The Lab Operations Assistant I duties may included but are not limited to: maintaining equipment and records, performing quality assurance activities, and ensuring that the facility is stocked appropriately. This position will transport cellular products back and forth from Moffitt Cancer Center and the Cell Therapy Facility. They will be expected to demonstrate competency of assigned task according to departmental guidelines.Position Highlights: The Lab Operations Assistant I performs a wide variety of job duties that will provide technical and administrative support for the Cell Therapy Facility. The lab assistant duties may include but are not limited to maintaining equipment and records, performing quality assurance activities and ensuring that staff work areas are stocked appropriately. They will be expected to work independently in carrying out their job duties. The lab assistant will also transport cellular products back and forth from Moffitt Cancer Center and the Cell Therapy Facility. Responsibilities: Perform daily weekly, monthly and as needed preparation of reagents, equipment preventive maintenance and documentation of equipment readings daily. Demonstrate a fundamental knowledge of equipment operation and preventive maintenance procedures. Demonstrate the ability to identify, troubleshoot and correct basic equipment malfunctions. Notifies supervisor or manager of any equipment problems encountered, in a timely manner. Maintains adequate inventory levels and includes stocking of the processing carts/shelves area each day of use. Communicates the need for replacement items in a timely manner so that emergency orders are minimized. Organizes and sorts documents for long-term storage, as required by regulatory agencies. Retains paperwork in an organized manner so that records are easily retrieved. Clerical functions include providing clerical support for the technical staff and maintain adequate supply of forms that are routinely used in the department. Daily transporting of the cellular products back and forth from Moffitt Cancer Center and Cell therapy Facility using the Moffitt provided vehicle. Assists laboratory operations assistant when needed in putting newly arrived supplies in the proper storage areas. Credentials and Qualifications: HS Diploma/GED 0-2+ years Laboratory setting experience to include: laboratory equipment, oversight, and materials managmenet experience.. Evidence of a safe driving record. Strong computer and clerical skills Excellent interpersonal skills

Salary Range

$16.50 - $24.04
