    The Opportunity

    In this role, you will support the installation, commissioning, and service of advanced power grid technologies within Hitachi Energy's Grid Integration Service organization. Working closely with service, commissioning, and engineering teams, you will focus on control systems that support FACTS, HVDC, substation, and power quality applications. Your work will span the full plant lifecycle, from commissioning through warranty and ongoing service, requiring handson involvement in fault tracing, system corrections, verification, and onsite technical support. You will operate in dynamic field environments, often under timecritical conditions, while collaborating with project managers, suppliers, and customers to meet specific service and control functionality needs. This position offers exposure to complex control platforms including HMI, MicroSCADA, PLC logic, and system software, and provides opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery. Your efforts will directly support grid reliability, system availability, and safe operation across critical power infrastructure.

    How You'll Make an Impact
    • Support commissioning, service, and maintenance of power system control platforms including HMI, MicroSCADA, and PLCbased solutions
    • Perform fault tracing, correction, implementation, and verification of control system components
    • Serve as primary field and phone support for service teams and customers on control system matters
    • Assist with control system design, implementation, and testing activities across projects
    • Collaborate with engineering teams, project managers, suppliers, and customers to meet service requirements
    • Deliver control system training to internal teams and customers
    • Participate in process improvement initiatives focused on service and control system effectiveness
    • Support tendering activities with control system insights
    • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines
    Your Background
    • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering with specialization in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Automatic Control Theory, Software Engineering, or a comparable field, or a combination of education and experience in controls or process automation
    • Experience working with computerbased control systems
    • Knowledge of substation products, equipment, and engineering practices
    • Knowledge of electrical standards and regulations (ANSI, CSA, IEC, and others)
    • Ability to work autonomously in timecritical and highpressure service environments
    • Availability to travel up to 60%, including extended travel within North America and internationally
