Job Summary
As a Entry Level Blast Crew Team Member, you quickly learn the aspects of safely working around explosives as you load, unload, and move products around the job site as needed. This is an opportunity to expand your skills, knowledge and develop a career plan. We provide the opportunity for you to obtain your CDL should you be interested in becoming a driver. As an employee, you can take advantage of our employee referral program!Key Responsibilities and Duties
• Work collaboratively as a team member and perform manual labor for the duration of the shift.
• Assist the site supervisor or Blaster in Charge with the materials and equipment needs and help collect supplies as requested.
• Use material handling equipment and tools including shovels, hand tools, power tools and work around heavy construction equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and report any employee, customer or safety concerns to the Blaster in Charge or Location Manager.
Education and Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
• Ability to work non-traditional first shift hours generally starting early.
• This position involves being outside in all weather conditions, lifting and carrying 50+ pounds of product and other materials, and frequently squatting and bending.
• Perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply and divide) to count inventory, verify inventory
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
• Strong team-oriented mentality
• Ability to read and interpret documents, product information, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Able to learn to identify products by classification through visible inspection.
Qualifications
• Must meet requirements of all State and Federal explosive laws and qualify as an ATF explosive possessor
• Reliable transportation
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age as required by the ATF
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Outdoor climate and terrain.
  • Exposure to dust, noise, oils and other mining elements.
  • Position requires the ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel and hand/finger dexterity to operate controls/tools.
  • Loads and unloads 40-60 pound product bags or boxes from company trucks. Unloading may require repeatedly carrying product/boxes.
