The Epic IT Revenue Cycle, Cadence Trainer delivers training and education for Epic Revenue Cycle applications, including Cadence, Prelude, Professional Billing, and related patient access workflows. This role partners with operational leaders, application analysts, and end users to support application adoption, workflow optimization, onboarding, and ongoing education across revenue cycle operations.

Purpose

The Epic IT Revenue Cycle, Cadence Trainer develops and delivers comprehensive training programs supporting Epic Revenue Cycle applications with an emphasis on Cadence, Prelude, Professional Billing, scheduling, registration, and patient access workflows. This role collaborates with operational leaders, application analysts, and revenue cycle stakeholders to support workflow optimization, user adoption, and organizational success through effective education and training.

Responsibilities

Develops and Maintains Training Programs

  • Design education programs tailored to revenue cycle and non-clinical audiences

  • Create training materials including manuals, e-learning modules, job aids, and quick reference guides

  • Align training content with Epic Revenue Cycle workflows and application functionality

  • Update training materials based on system enhancements, workflow changes, and user feedback

  • Ensure training supports organizational standardization and optimization initiatives

Delivers Training and Onboarding

  • Facilitate classroom, virtual, and hands-on training sessions

  • Provide onboarding training for new hires across revenue cycle departments

  • Deliver individual and group training for new clinics, departments, and operational initiatives

  • Deliver education supporting software updates and new Epic functionality

  • Provide at-the-elbow support for registration, scheduling, patient access, and revenue cycle staff

Assigns Applications and Supports User Proficiency

  • Determine appropriate Epic Revenue Cycle application access based on user roles

  • Develop and maintain advanced knowledge of Cadence, Prelude, Professional Billing, and related applications

  • Guide users through role-specific workflows and operational procedures

  • Monitor user proficiency and adoption

  • Manage training requests, access questions, and application support needs

Coordinates Training Logistics

  • Schedule training sessions and manage training environments

  • Coordinate logistics for educational events across multiple locations

  • Track attendance, training completion, and competency records

  • Ensure availability of equipment, technology, and training resources

  • Maintain training documentation and administrative records

Analyzes Training and Workflow Effectiveness

  • Review organizational activities and operational data to support planning and process improvement

  • Assess curriculum effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement

  • Support strategic organizational goals through education and application adoption

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Health Informatics, Finance, or a related field

  • Minimum of five years of experience in training, patient scheduling, revenue cycle operations, healthcare information technology, or a related field

  • Knowledge of healthcare workflows and information system applications supporting multi-specialty ambulatory clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, research, and higher education

  • Prior experience in patient registration, scheduling, revenue cycle, patient access, and/or medical billing

  • Experience developing and delivering instructor-led, virtual, and hands-on training programs

  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills

  • Ability to develop training materials, job aids, and instructional documentation

  • Ability to analyze workflows and align training with operational and application needs

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Health Informatics, Instructional Design, Finance, Education, or a related field

  • Minimum of three years of experience supporting Epic Revenue Cycle, Cadence, Prelude, Professional Billing, or related application training

  • Experience with Epic Revenue Cycle applications

  • Prior experience in patient registration, scheduling, revenue cycle, and medical billing

  • Cross-credentialed in multiple Epic modules

  • Experience supporting healthcare implementations, workflow optimization, and organizational change initiatives

Licenses/Registrations/Certifications

Required

  • Epic Certification in modules such as Professional Billing, Cadence, Prelude, or the ability to obtain certification

Preferred

  • Instructional Design Certification

  • Adult Learning Certification

  • Additional Epic Revenue Cycle certifications

Salary Range

$115,000+ depending on qualifications
