Job Description

This is a full-time position supporting civil engineering projects from planning and design through construction. The Engineering Technician will work under the direction of licensed engineers and project managers to assist with civil design, drafting, calculations, and technical documentation. Responsibilities include preparing plans, profiles, grading, and quantity takeoffs; supporting permitting and agency coordination; and assisting with project documentation. The role may also include limited field assignments to support construction observation, data collection, and coordination with contractors and agencies. This position offers hands-on exposure to both office-based design work and field activities, with opportunities for professional growth and progression toward licensure.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or scheduled to graduate within six (6) months
  • Basic understanding of civil engineering principles, construction plans, and technical drawings
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow direction from senior engineers
  • Valid California driver’s license and ability to perform occasional field work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe
  • Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D for civil engineering design and drafting
  • Internship or entry-level experience in civil engineering design, public works, or construction support
  • Familiarity with grading, drainage, roadway, utility, or site development projects
  • Interest in pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
