We are looking for a motivated Software Engineer I to join our data team! In this role, you will help build, maintain, and support our core data warehouse solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will collaborate closely with data analysts and business stakeholders to translate reporting requests into clean data models and Looker dashboards. • Business Intelligence: Build, manage, and optimize Looker dashboards and reports, ensuring business users can easily access actionable data.
  • Data Quality & Attention to Detail: Ensure data integrity and consistency across data marts by writing validation queries and row-count checks to catch discrepancies early.
  • Pipeline Monitoring: Help monitor and maintain basic Apache Airflow (Cloud Composer) DAGs written in Python, ensuring daily data loads run smoothly.
  • Performance Basics: Learn and apply standard query optimization techniques, including BigQuery partitioning and clustering best practices.

Job Requirements:

  • Foundational SQL Skills: Strong command of SQL (joins, aggregations, and familiarity with window functions).
  • Data Warehouse Exposure: A solid conceptual understanding of relational databases, ETL/ELT concepts, and standard data warehousing structures (tables, views, and data lakes).
  • BI / Looker Experience: Hands-on experience or academic exposure to building dashboards in Looker (or similar BI tools like Tableau/PowerBI).
  • Basic Python & Git: Familiarity with Python for basic scripting/automation and comfort using Git for version control.
  • The Mindset (Self-Starter): A proactive learner who takes initiative to solve problems and figures out how things work.
  • Analytical Nature: The ability to look at a business problem, analyze the underlying data requirements, and implement a structured solution.
  • Attention to Detail: Deep care for data quality-you are someone who double-checks your query results and takes pride in data accuracy.
