Great Waters Federal is seeking a Junior Data & Insights Specialist based in the National Capital Region or available for remote work. The selected candidate will assist with collecting, cleansing, and analyzing datasets to deliver actionable insights and comprehensive reports and dashboards that support informed business decisions. They will assist the lead analyst to bridge technical data expertise with business strategy by developing interactive dashboards to visualize performance trends and offer strategic recommendations to stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide entry-level support for analytics delivery, including analysis, requirements support, and documentation support , and program and project management.
  • Assist with capturing requirements (notes, draft user stories, acceptance criteria support), organizing traceability, and maintaining artifact inventories.
  • Support creation and upkeep of documentation such as meeting notes, decision/action logs, knowledge base entries, and basic user guidance; assists with data validation and preparation of materials for stakeholder review.
  • Contribute to delivery documentation and support user validation and test execution.
  • Assist in the delivery of accurate, insightful, and actionable data analyses and recommendations.
  • Ensure that high standards of data quality and integrity are upheld throughout the entire data lifecycle, encompassing data collection, preprocessing, analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
  • Actively detect and address data-related challenges, bottlenecks, or performance deficiencies to maintain the efficient operation of data analysis projects and data-driven initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations utilizing data visualization tools such as Tableau to effectively communicate key metrics, KPIs, and performance indicators to all stakeholders.
  • Produce both ad-hoc and recurring reports, analyses, and presentations to support business operations, strategic planning, and data-driven decision-making processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology related field plus two (2) years of professional IT experience.
  • Must be able to successfully complete, pass, and maintain a public trust investigation.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining reports, dashboards, and visualizations utilizing data visualization tools such as Tableau to effectively communicate key metrics, KPIs, and performance indicators to stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written/verbal skills, translating technical info, stakeholder management.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
