Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Junior Data Center Technician to support a long-term Army program focused on secure enterprise infrastructure and mission-critical data center operations. This position is on-site in Alexandria, VA . The Junior Data Center Technician will provide hands-on support for data center hardware installations, cabling, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting in a secure environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career IT professional with an active TS/SCI clearance to support mission-essential systems that directly enable national defense operations. Responsibilities for the Junior Data Center Technician include: * Rack, unrack, install, and decommission servers, storage devices, and network equipment in a data center environment. * Perform structured cabling, recabling, labeling, and cable management according to established standards and procedures. * Conduct basic hardware maintenance, including replacing drives, power supplies, and other field-replaceable components. * Verify power, network connectivity, and equipment status indicators; document and escalate issues to senior technicians as necessary. * Follow SOPs, runbooks, change management processes, and security requirements while supporting day-to-day data center operations. Required Qualifications for the Junior Data Center Technician include: * 1-2 years of experience in IT support, hardware support, desktop support, or data center operations. * Hands-on experience with computer hardware installation, equipment rack integration, cabling, and basic troubleshooting. * Working knowledge of basic networking concepts and the ability to identify and report connectivity or hardware issues. * Security+ certification required. * Active TS/SCI clearance required.
