Bartender

The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic

beverages while delivering exceptional hospitality to guests. This role creates

a welcoming and upbeat atmosphere, ensures efficient service, and maintains

cleanliness and organization behind the bar. Bartenders play a key role in

creating the overall guest experience at Rigby’s Fireside Taproom & Social.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to Rigby’s recipes and standards.
  • Deliver outstanding guest service in a fast-paced taproom environment.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally to bar guests.
  • Build rapport with guests and create a friendly, social atmosphere.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards behind the bar.
  • Accurately process guest payments and maintain cash handling procedures.

Essential Duties &

Responsibilities

  • Mix ingredients such as liquor, beer, wine, soda, syrups, juices, and garnishes to create beverages.
  • Engage with guests in a personable, energetic, and professional manner.
  • Take food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system accurately.
  • Relay food orders to the kitchen and coordinate timing of service.
  • Prepare garnishes including sliced fruit and vegetables.
  • Present guest checks, collect payments, and process credit card transactions.
  • Complete opening, running, and closing side work duties.
  • Monitor guest alcohol consumption and ensure responsible alcohol service.
  • Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized bar area at all times.
  • Follow all local and state alcohol service regulations.
  • Assist teammates and contribute to overall restaurant operations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous bartending or restaurant experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of beer, wine, cocktails, and bar service standard preferred.
  • Strong communication and guest service skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math and cash-handling skills.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must meet legal age requirements for alcohol service in South Carolina.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
  • Ability to climb set ofd stairs with food and drinks.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, lifting, and carrying.
  • Ability to lift and transport items up to 25 pounds regularly.
  • Frequent use of hands for mixing drinks, cleaning, and stocking.
  • Ability to work in a busy, high-energy restaurant and bar environment.
