Core Solutions Analyst

Job Summary

Job Title: Core Solutions Analyst
Location: Wethersfield, CT (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

We are seeking a Core Solutions Analyst to support the daily administration, configuration, and optimization of the Jack Henry Symitar core banking system and related platforms. In this role, you will ensure system reliability, resolve technical issues, implement system enhancements, and support day-to-day banking operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain a stable, secure, and efficient core banking environment while contributing to process improvements and operational excellence.

ResponsibilitiesCore Banking System Administration
  • Administer, maintain, and support the Jack Henry Symitar core banking system and related applications.

  • Execute system updates, configuration changes, rate updates, and report maintenance.

  • Monitor system performance to ensure reliability, accuracy, and availability.

System Support & Issue Resolution
  • Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.

  • Coordinate with software vendors for issue escalation and resolution when necessary.

  • Provide timely technical support to internal users and business teams.

Development & Configuration
  • Develop and maintain PowerOn programs to support business operations.

  • Configure system parameters, defaults, and application settings.

  • Create and maintain batch jobs, automated processes, and scheduled SFTP scripts.

  • Develop and maintain document mapping processes using SymForm PDF and PowerFrame Docs.

Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve system workflows and operational efficiency.

  • Implement automation and system enhancements to reduce manual processes.

  • Recommend and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Release Management & Testing
  • Support testing, validation, and deployment of system upgrades and enhancements.

  • Verify system functionality following updates and maintain supporting documentation.

Operational Support
  • Support hardware and systems integrated with the core banking environment, including card printers, PIN pads, scanners, and signature pads.

  • Provide technical assistance for operational systems across multiple departments.

  • Assist with business continuity by providing backup support for core banking operations during high-demand periods or staff absences.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting the Jack Henry Symitar core banking system.

  • Hands-on experience with:

    • Symitar system administration

    • PowerOn programming

    • Batch processing

    • Production system support

  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving production system issues.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a credit union or financial institution.

  • Experience with MeridianLink or similar lending platforms.

  • Experience with process improvement and workflow automation initiatives.

  • Familiarity with business intelligence and reporting tools.

  • Jack Henry Symitar

  • PowerOn Programming

  • SQL and relational database fundamentals

  • Microsoft Excel (Advanced)

  • Power BI or similar reporting and analytics tools (preferred)
