River Run is a shared services organization that supports banking affiliates, Newburyport Bank, Pentucket Bank and Rollstone Bank & Trust.


The Core Banking System Analyst supports the Bank's core banking platforms by ensuring reliable system performance and efficient banking operations. This role partners with IT, business units, and vendors to support system administration, enhancements, troubleshooting, testing, and continuous improvement while maintaining data integrity, compliance, and documentation.


Essential Job Functions

  • Support modernization, innovation, process improvement, and compliance initiatives within the core and retail banking environment.
  • Assist with system evaluations, business requirements gathering, and the translation of business needs into functional and technical specifications for core banking projects.
  • Support system configuration, testing, upgrades, integrations, and workflow optimization to improve system performance, data quality, reporting, and operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot system and application issues by collaborating with Information Technology, business units, vendors, and third-party providers to identify and resolve root causes.
  • Maintain system documentation, support change management and user training, and assist with the implementation of new systems, processes, and enhancements.
  • Help ensure data governance, regulatory compliance, and adherence to internal controls while supporting audits, examinations, and reporting requirements.
  • Participate in vendor meetings, industry forums, and ongoing professional development to stay current on emerging technologies, regulatory guidance, and banking best practices.
Requirements:

Qualifications, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2–4 years of experience in banking, financial services, information technology, systems administration, business analysis, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of core banking applications, retail banking operations, system integrations, data management, and business process workflows; experience with the FIS Horizon core banking platform is preferred.
  • Experience supporting system enhancements, implementations, upgrades, testing, and operational improvement initiatives, with the ability to analyze business processes, troubleshoot issues, and recommend technology solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills, including experience developing business requirements, process flows, test plans, and operational procedures while collaborating with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with change management, banking regulations, information security, data governance, and industry standards (including FFIEC guidance), with the ability to manage multiple priorities and demonstrate a commitment to operational excellence, customer service, and continuous improvement.
