Summary
Baylor College of Medicine's Finance Department is seeking a Financial Analyst to join its Financial Planning, Forecasting & Analysis team. As a Financial Analyst, you will be involved with financial analysis and forecasting of budgets, as well as preparing routine and specialized financial reports. This position also involves assisting with the preparation and entry of budgets. The position requires experience and knowledge of general healthcare workflows, finance concepts, technical language, benchmarking, business modeling, and reporting statistical information in graphical and other presentation formats. Performs financial analysis and forecasts budgets, and prepares routine and specialized financial reports. Assists with the preparation and entry of budgets.
This position is eligible to work a hybrid work arrangement within the Greater Houston, TX area.
Job Duties
  • Manages the physician compensation plan model, data gathering and reporting.
  • Works closely with the Clinical Operations and Physician Compensation teams to review the physician compensation model.
  • Performs journal entries and meets accounting deadlines.
  • Performs financial analysis; prepares routine and specialized financial reports.
  • Completes projects as requested by management and leadership related to all funding areas and missions within the College.
  • Completes various additional analysis and reporting that is due on a weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Works with the departments to obtain all necessary information needed for review.
  • Gathers and organizes data and assists in budget preparation.
  • Works with management, leadership, and departments in completing the budget.
  • Provides technical, financial, and operational support to departments.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or long term planning.
  • Experience with financial models.
  • Experience with Excel (pivot tables, formulas, etc.).
  • Experience in a healthcare environment.

Work Authorization Requirement:
