, Responsibilities

Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Materials Specialist I in our Fullerton, California location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we're the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.

We are currently seeing highly motivated, energetic, entry level or experienced individuals to join our team as a Materials Specialist. This is an opportunity to grow your career at a large, international aerospace company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Moving raw materials throughout the manufacturing process as needed to maintain production schedules.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and control of material stores including finished goods and raw materials
  • Package, stage, and ship finished goods. When necessary, expedite critical shipments
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement daily by your actions
  • Take the initiative to resolve materials related issues with interaction from supervisor/Manager
  • Perform physical counts of products/components in the manufacturing process or in storage as needed to assist in inventory audits.
  • Perform other tasks as needed in support of manufacturing operations, customers, and suppliers
  • Comply with all EHS rules and regulations and supervisory instructions. Report all incidents including injuries, spills, fires, property damage, and near misses to their supervisor
  • Able to work with minimum or no supervision
  • Practice 5s standards and keep area clean daily

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift/move 30 lbs. (may not exceed per EHS policies)
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires bending, squatting, reaching.

Basic Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum 1-year experience related to materials and/or shipping/receiving
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
