JOB TITLE
General Purchasing
WHAT YOU WILL DO
[General Summary]
• Take advantage of this great entry level supply chain opportunity with this well-known international manufacturer.
• To manage vendors, assist with inventory tracking, and interact with internal departments.
• To review and forecast materials and supply needs for product runs.
• Assist with inventory reporting and analytics.
• Responsible for general purchasing (such as steel & aluminum /sub materials/paints/equipment/MROs) activities and supplier management relating to cost, quality, supplier controls, legal, compliances, and service for HMGMA.
[Major responsibilities]
• Place orders with vendors according to planned manufacturing schedules.
• Research and evaluate various vendors to determine the best price/quality and availability.
• Ensure materials are purchased at best possible price by conducting research and analysis of vendors and costs.
• Prepare, report, and implement Request for Quotation (RFQ) for general purchasing.
• Select, develop, and manage supply base for General Purchasing products and services by:
o Preparing Request for Quotations (RFQ) for user department requirements.
o Negotiating spot purchases and long-term agreements.
o Maintaining competitive pricing.
o Leading yearly cost reduction activities.
o Monitoring supplier quality and delivery performance.
• Formulate and implement yearly commodity and supply base strategy.
• Work closely with suppliers to optimize supplier processes.
• Explore available technology and implement best practices related to purchasing activities.
• Plan, organize, track, and disseminate information related to General Purchasing suppliers.
• Manage vendor and pricing data in ERP system.
