Job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Breast Pathologist to join a respected healthcare team in Ft. Myers, FL. This full-time, day-shift position (Monday–Friday) offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, collaborative clinical environment while contributing to exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate is motivated, eager to learn, and committed to excellence in diagnostic pathology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert diagnostic evaluation for Breast Pathology cases, with a strong focus on case sign-out and subspecialty service.

  • Perform frozen sections as needed.

  • Render gross and/or microscopic diagnoses, incorporating molecular or genetic data when appropriate.

  • Perform delegated Medical Director duties for both anatomic and clinical laboratories.

  • Participate equally in on-call rotations, tumor boards, and multidisciplinary meetings.

  • Interpret clinical laboratory data and provide professional consultation on clinical pathology inquiries.

  • Participate in and support quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) programs.

  • Collaborate with laboratory, clinical, and administrative teams to ensure excellent turnaround times, accuracy, and service.

  • Provide guidance and expertise to technical staff to resolve complex case issues.

  • Support departmental leadership in supervisory duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • M.D. or D.O. with Board Certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.

  • Breast Pathology fellowship strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of three years post-residency experience preferred, though not required.

  • Must hold or be eligible for an unrestricted Florida medical license.

  • Strong understanding of hospital and laboratory operations with a strong customer-service focus.

  • Ability to fulfill CLIA ’88 requirements, if applicable.

Shift and Salary:

  • Day Shift | Monday–Friday
  • Salary: $300,000–$400,000 + Sign-On Bonus
