Job description

Are you a detail-driven professional who enjoys problem-solving and working behind the scenes to protect members’ financial well-being? We’re seeking a Bookkeeping Specialist for our Network Partner, Xtend, to provide stand-in and daily bookkeeping services to our credit union partners through Xtend Bookkeeping. You’ll contribute to evolving services related to exception processing and general ledger balancing. If accuracy, accountability, and financial integrity matter to you, this could be a great fit!
This is a Monday thru Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, in the office position. No Weekends Required!
What You’ll Do:
  • Complete daily bookkeeping procedures for credit union clients in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Post and balance journal entries for ACH, Share Draft, Credit Cards, ATM, and Corporate Statements.
  • Prepare and deliver daily end-of-day reports reflecting general ledger status.
  • Communicate with credit union staff via Zendesk and email to obtain reports and resolve daily transaction needs.
  • Perform end-of-month close activities, including general ledger balancing and reconciliation reporting.
  • Provide backup and peer coverage for other Bookkeeping Specialists as needed.
  • Assist with stand-in service coverage when requested by credit unions.
  • Complete special balancing projects approved by management.
  • Perform Bookkeeping Associate duties for one credit union per quarter to maintain disaster recovery readiness.
  • Complete required annual ACH processing training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in a business-related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to exercise discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information.
  • Strong visual acuity for close-range, detail-oriented work.
  • Excellent listening skills with the ability to follow detailed verbal instructions.
  • Professional, clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for repetitive data entry and precise document handling.
  • Experience with CU*BASE preferred.
  • Demonstrated initiative in expanding job knowledge, analytical skills, and understanding credit union operations.
