The Test Engineer is responsible for conducting performance, safety, and functional testing of battery products to ensure compliance with company and industry standards. This role involves test planning, data collection, analysis, and reporting, as well as identifying and resolving product or process issues during testing.
JOB DESCRIPTION
• Perform static, safety, functional, and fire protection tests on battery products, including liquid injection operations.
• Conduct dynamic performance testing to verify battery reliability and compliance with technical standards.
• Record, analyze, and interpret test data; prepare and submit detailed test reports.
• Apply knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits, component selection, and electrical safety standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve testing-related issues using strong analytical and hands-on problem-solving skills.
• Follow established testing procedures and ensure all test results are accurate, traceable, and compliant with specifications.
• Report any anomalies or failures immediately to the responsible engineer or supervisor and assist in corrective actions.
• Maintain and calibrate testing instruments; ensure testing areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety requirements.
• Support continuous improvement in testing methods and product quality through feedback and data-driven insights.
• Apply basic quality management principles and contribute to product reliability enhancement.
COMPETENCIES
• Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of battery testing procedures, electrical systems, and safety protocols.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and identify trends or performance deviations.
• Problem Solving: Quickly diagnose issues during testing and propose effective corrective measures.
• Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in test execution, data recording, and documentation.
• Safety Awareness: Maintains high standards of electrical and laboratory safety practices.
• Team Collaboration: Works closely with R&D, Quality, and Production teams to support product validation and improvement.
• Accountability: Takes responsibility for test accuracy, equipment condition, and timely reporting.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Primarily based in a laboratory or production test area, involving close interaction with testing equipment, electrical instruments, and battery modules. May require working around high voltage systems under controlled safety procedures. PPE use and strict adherence to safety standards are mandatory.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform manual testing tasks for extended periods.
• Occasionally lift or move equipment or samples up to 25 pounds (≈11 kg).
• Good vision and hand-eye coordination for observing test results and handling electrical components.
• Comfortable working in environments involving electrical testing, laboratory tools, and controlled temperature conditions.
POSITION TYPE
This is a full-time position.
TRAVEL
Some travel (30%).
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's Degree in electric related major;
• Over 1 years Test engineer experience, solar or battery project preferred;
• Over 1 year energy related work background;
• Working knowledge of the company's products, competitive products and the market
