Battery Test EngineerThe Role

We are seeking a hands-on Battery Test Engineer with a proactive, getitdone attitude to join a team qualifying nextgeneration BMS algorithms and architectures. You will be instrumental in turning algorithm designs into validated, productionready battery systems that deliver exceptional user experience for portable consumer products.

This position contributes to the development and qualification of advanced lithium ion battery technology for portable power consumer applications. You will work with the Battery Software Qualification team to develop battery firmware, algorithm and BMS qualification protocols to ensure high-level user experience. You will collaborate with algorithm engineers and other test engineers in the team to improve the quality, productivity and efficiency of these consumer products.
Location: Cupertino, California, USA
Work Schedule: On-site.

What You'll Do
  • Execute test plans - Run electrical and battery cycler test plans provided by algorithm engineers and deliver highquality data on schedule.
  • Analyze and investigate - Support algorithm engineers by analyzing test data and investigating abnormal observations.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain - Diagnose equipment and sample issues; maintain and repair test equipment as needed.
  • Automate validation - Codevelop automated validation processes and test automation with other test engineers.
  • Collaborate across teams - Work closely with algorithm engineers and test peers to improve product quality, productivity, and efficiency.
What You Bring (MustHaves)
  • Degree - M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or B.Sc. with relevant industrial experience.
  • Programming - Strong programming skills, preferably in Python, for test automation.
  • Test equipment experience - Handson experience with battery testers, source meters, multimeters, and similar tools.
  • Debugging - Excellent debugging skills for tackling challenging electrical and system problems.
  • Circuit work - Practical experience working on electrical circuits.
