Job Description
This role is an entry-level position that requires a motivated, self-starting professional who embodies Redland's values and is committed to ongoing personal and professional growth. This role supports the engineering team by assisting with the design and documentation of land development projects while developing technical skills through completion of positional Learning & Growth goals. Responsibilities include collaborating with colleagues, taking ownership of assigned tasks, and seeking to understand the broader context and objectives of each task, all while producing creative, high-quality work.
In this role, you will be:
  • Providing support to team members and Project Manager(s) as required.
  • Assisting in the preparation of civil engineering designs, technical calculations and reports, construction documents, specifications, entitlement documents, and permit applications for residential subdivisions, commercial & industrial developments, multifamily developments, and other private land development projects.
  • Assisting in engineering designs related to water systems, sanitary sewer, grading, storm drainage, and roadway improvements.
  • Performing material and code research, material quantity estimation, and other supporting documentation and tasks for projects.
  • Utilizing AutoCAD (CIVIL3D) and other software to assist with the designs and drawings for schematic, design development, and construction documents.
  • Performing other duties as required.

Salary: $70,000 to $87,500 plus bonus opportunities, Depending on experience.
Job Requirements
Education & Experience
  • Possessing a bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum.
  • Typically, 0-3 years of civil engineering experience primarily focused on private sector land development projects. Entry Level candidates without job related experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Possessing foundational knowledge of civil engineering practices, including roadway, utility, and storm drainage.
  • Registered EIT or actively pursuing completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.

Technical Knowledge & Software Skills
  • Beginner Level proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to develop proficiency in the use of MHFD's Design Resources, AutoTurn, HEC-RAS and other civil engineering related software required to complete tasks on land development projects.
  • Land development engineering experience and skills; large and small-scale grading, drainage and utility design; roadway design are a plus.
