Job description

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the development and support of innovative data logging solutions. This role oversees engineering projects, manages technical staff, and collaborates cross-functionally to deliver high-quality products that meet customer and business needs. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, leadership, and project management experience in a manufacturing or electronics environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Answer questions and resolve issues brought forth by engineering team members.
  • Create detailed engineering plans, processes, procedures for engineering staff to use and abide by:
    • Complete ownership of Design Control Process
    • Establish standard operating procedures for department
    • Understand and improve the ECO (Engineering Change) process
    • Organize and take responsibility of storage of engineering design files
  • Plans and formulates aspects of research and development proposals such as objective or purpose of project, applications that can be used, costs of project, equipment and human resource requirements and timelines.
  • Work with production and technical support to improve products and/or processes to reduce failures in production and the field.
  • Contribute and oversee innovative and efficient design techniques to allow rapid development of new product models and features.
  • Work with engineering staff to Update production documentation, or electronic assemblies with corrective actions needed through the ECO process.
  • Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by engineering staff.
  • Conduct various tests and quality assurance checks to verify the quality of completed projects.
  • Understanding of Integrating electronic hardware, firmware, and software into complete systems.
  • Monitor and determine various staffing and training needs.
  • Selects, develops, trains and supervises engineering staff members.
  • Effectively communicate progress and problems to management and other departments.
  • Prepare and deliver various engineering-related presentations, both internally and externally.


Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in electronic design in a manufacturing environment.
  • Leadership skills necessary to manage and develop a team.
  • Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment.
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and resolve complex technical/electrical issues.
  • Project Management experience. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage project performance requirements within budget, resource allocation and timing constraints.
  • Knowledge of software design tools for electrical schematics, simulation and PCB layout.
  • Proficiency in C and assembly language programming for embedded applications.
  • Experience in design, repair and analysis of electronic systems.
