Job description

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented mortgage loan processor to manage loan files from submission through closing. As a veteran-focused team, we're looking for someone already fluent in VA loan guidelines, who takes pride in submitting clean, accurate files and delivering a great borrower experience.

Compensation:

$60,000 - $80,000 + Bonus

Responsibilities:
  • Review loan applications and supporting documentation to ensure files are complete, accurate, and ready for underwriting submission, with strong attention to VA-specific requirements (COE, VA appraisal/NOV, funding fee calculations, residual income, entitlement)

  • Serve as a liaison between borrowers, loan officers, real estate agents, underwriters, and other third parties to help move loans efficiently through the process

  • Maintain detailed documentation and update loan status in the loan origination system from origination through closing

  • Collect, review, and verify borrower financial documentation, including income, assets, credit, and employment, to ensure compliance with VA and investor underwriting guidelines

  • Order and manage third-party services such as VA appraisals, title work, inspections, and other required documentation to support loan approval

Qualifications:
  • VA loan expertise required. Candidate must already be well-versed in VA loan guidelines, entitlement, COE processing, and funding fee requirements; this is not an entry-level or training position

  • Mortgage lending experience and loan knowledge required, with VA loans as a primary focus (experience with FHA, FHLB, or FNMA a plus)

  • 2 years minimum experience in loan processing required, with direct VA loan processing experience strongly preferred

  • Ability to manage multiple loan files in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and compliance

  • Strong ability to communicate clearly and professionally with borrowers, real estate agents, and internal team members

  • Accounting, finance, or business Associate's degree preferred (High school diploma or GED required)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a requirement

  • Superb analytical skills, time management skills, and attention to detail

  • Genuine interest in serving the veteran and military community is a plus
