Job description

We are looking for an entry-level Accountant to support a hospital finance team in Tustin, California through a Long-term Contract opportunity. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with detailed financial information, organizing large data sets, and improving the accuracy of accounting records. The selected candidate will contribute to projects that strengthen financial controls, support day-to-day reconciliation work, and bring greater structure to vendor, contract, and reporting data.
Responsibilities:
• Organize and review financial and operational records to improve accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across accounting files.
• Build and maintain master tracking logs for contracts and vendors, ensuring information can be searched, matched, and validated efficiently.
• Investigate discrepancies in payable and vendor records by performing research and comparing multiple data sources.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including recording entries and supporting transaction follow-up.
• Prepare and support account and bank reconciliations to help maintain complete and reliable financial records.
• Analyze existing spreadsheets and reporting files, then help convert data into more structured database formats for easier use and reporting.
• Support the development of standardized financial reports and organized documentation that improve team workflows.
• Collaborate with accounting leadership and team members, follow guidance effectively, and contribute to process improvements through careful data review.• Entry-level accounting experience or relevant education in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, accounting entries, and general reconciliation practices.
• Experience with bank reconciliations and account reconciliation activities.
• Strong Excel and data management skills, with the ability to sort, compare, and analyze large volumes of information.
• Ability to research financial records, identify inconsistencies, and resolve issues with attention to detail.
• Comfortable learning new systems and working with structured databases or reporting tools.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working within a team environment.
