Global Engineering Services (GES) NA Ops Engineering is searching for an innovative and solutions-oriented engineering project leader to lead initiative of developing and delivering next generation, world-class sortation and transportation systems. The Concept Development & Design Team will support retrofit designs for first mile retrofits as well as controls & solutions development to be used for future projects.

We're looking to add a high-impact engineer to our team.

In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to design high-quality, cost-effective solutions for our fulfillment systems. Your projects will include retrofits for highly automated fulfillment centers and cross-dock facilities.
You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. Our team works on hundreds of projects each year

This role requires up to 25% travel and availability to work from a corporate office when not traveling. Candidates should either live near or be willing to relocate within a reasonable commuting distance of the office. Relocation assistance may be provided.
Key job responsibilities
- Coordinate design and innovation efforts to develop optimal solutions for the fulfillment network through equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.
- Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
- Deeply understand the business and technical requirements of product integration from mechanical, electrical, and controls functions
- Evaluate solutions effectively and make decisions that balance business value and technology risk
- Help your customers and the engineering teams make appropriate trade-offs by considering the larger picture (e.g., business goals, throughput expectations, quality requirements, efficiency, maintainability, operability)
- Identify standards and drive consistent application of engineering changes across North America
- Build strong working relationships with Fulfillment Center (FC) leadership and their operations teams across multiple sites including Industrial Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, and Process Engineering stakeholders
- Data mine and transform raw thoughts into clear technical documentation
- Effective communication skills, ability to execute the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions
- Ability to travel 25% globally to interact with internal and external business and technical leaders.
