This company is a pioneer in its field, committed to delivering exceptional service and innovative solutions that touch countless individuals daily. Your work will directly contribute to their mission of creating seamless and effective digital interactions.
Our client is seeking a visionary Conversation/IVR Designer to join our dynamic team and redefine how users engage with AI assistants across both chat and voice platforms. In this pivotal role, you won't just be designing interfaces; you'll be a key influencer, shaping the strategic direction of AI-powered products and ensuring every interaction is clear, effective, and builds trust. Your expertise will be critical in transforming complex workflows into intuitive, human-centered experiences that achieve high containment, successful task completion, and widespread adoption.
What You'll Do:
  • Drive the definition of critical user tasks by providing essential UX insights during early discovery phases.
  • Proactively identify and address points of friction, such as usability challenges, comprehension gaps, trust issues, or interaction breakdowns within voice and chat experiences.
  • Champion human-centered evidence, including behavioral patterns, usability findings, and interaction pain points, to inform and guide product discussions.
  • Collaborate closely with Product teams to develop and implement recommendations that enhance task success, minimize user confusion, and align with overarching business and experience goals.
  • Partner with Engineering to design conversational patterns that are not only innovative but also feasible, scalable, and of the highest quality.
  • Design comprehensive, end-to-end conversational experiences for both chat and voice, encompassing dialogue flows, prompts, responses, robust fallback paths, and effective recovery behaviors.
  • Ensure clarity, maintain a consistent tone, and drive coherence across all assistant touchpoints.
  • Produce all necessary artifacts and design specifications required for successful build and launch phases.
  • Establish and refine experience-relevant success measures, including indicators of ease of use, drivers of handoff, and friction points in task completion.
  • Leverage post-launch insights and data to continuously improve existing experiences and inform future prioritization decisions.

Must-Have Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in designing conversational experiences for AI assistants, chatbots, virtual assistants, or voice-enabled products.
  • Exceptional writing skills, coupled with strong interaction design and systems-thinking capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing multi-turn dialogue, robust fallback behaviors, and effective recovery patterns.
  • A keen ability to translate user insights directly into product direction, moving beyond mere interface execution.
  • Extensive experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and research or analytics partners.
  • Comfortable navigating and balancing user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints.
  • A track record of utilizing research, testing, and performance data to continuously enhance user experiences.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
  • Experience with AI or Large Language Model (LLM)-powered products.
  • Proficiency in designing conversational experiences across both chat and voice modalities.
  • Familiarity with regulated or high-trust environments.
  • Experience supporting workflows in provider, healthcare, or operational settings.
  • Background in defining quality and success metrics specifically for conversational products.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, UX Design, Linguistics, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Communications, English, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Equivalent practical experience in conversation design, UX, content design, or AI assistant design is also highly valued.
