About the Role:

Priority Commerce is seeking an ambitious, relationship-driven Director of Commercial Sales, Priority Commerce Sports to help accelerate the growth of our Sports & Entertainment division. This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities with professional sports organizations, collegiate athletics programs, leagues, venues, and entertainment properties throughout North America and international markets.


Working directly with the SVP, Priority Commerce Sports, the Director will lead all aspects of the sales process - from strategic prospecting and executive outreach to solution development, contract negotiations, and client onboarding. This individual will represent Priority Commerce's comprehensive financial technology platform, helping these organizations modernize their payments, payables, receivables, treasury, and commerce operations.


The ideal candidate is a highly motivated sales professional who thrives on building relationships, creating new opportunities, and consistently exceeding sales objectives in a consultative, enterprise sales environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to generate new business opportunities across professional sports organizations, collegiate athletics, leagues, venues, and entertainment properties.

  • Prospect, qualify, and build relationships with executive decision-makers including finance, operations, technology, ticketing, sponsorship, and executive leadership.

  • Manage the complete enterprise sales cycle, including prospecting, discovery, qualification, solution presentations, proposal development, negotiation, contract execution, and client onboarding.

  • Conduct virtual and in-person presentations demonstrating the value of Priority Commerce's integrated financial technology solutions.

  • Collaborate with internal product, implementation, marketing, finance, and executive leadership teams to develop customized solutions that address client needs.

  • Support the SVP, Priority Commerce Sports in strategic sales initiatives, executive meetings, industry conferences, and high-value partnership opportunities.

  • Maintain an active pipeline of qualified opportunities and consistently achieve individual sales goals and key performance metrics.

  • Maintain accurate sales activity, forecasting, and pipeline management within the company's CRM platform.

  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscape, emerging technologies, and evolving business challenges across the sports and entertainment marketplace.

Candidate Requirements:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, Communications, or a related field preferred.

  • 3+ years of successful commercial, enterprise, or business development sales experience.

  • Experience working in professional sports, collegiate athletics, sports agencies, sponsorship sales, or corporate partnerships is strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated success developing new business opportunities and closing complex sales.

  • Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with executive-level decision-makers.

  • Highly self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a proven ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

  • Comfortable learning and selling innovative financial technology solutions to executive audiences.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple sales opportunities simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word.

  • Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or Microsoft Dynamics is preferred.

  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 15% for meetings, conferences, and events.

Compensation range: $145k -$190k +commissions
