Job description

Description:

DSRT SURF isn't a traditional workplace, and we're not looking for traditional people.

We're building a fast-growing hospitality and lifestyle brand where surf culture, guest experience, and high performance come together in a unique way. We're looking for people who thrive in energetic environments, take pride in their work, and want to help build something special from the ground up.

This is a fully on-site Entertainment & Events Coordinator role based in Palm Desert, California, responsible for booking talent and bringing our event spaces to life.

What You'll Do

As our Entertainment & Events Coordinator, you own the full entertainment lifecycle at DSRT SURF, from sourcing and hiring our House DJ and guest talent to supporting sales, F&B, and Guest Experiences by coordinating the event setups that bring every show to life. You'll manage relationships with DJs, bands, and performers, and work across teams to make sure every event, big or small, runs on time and on brand.

  • Source, audition, and hire DJs, bands, and performers for regular programming and special events
  • Manage hiring, scheduling, and performance of the House DJ and any recurring entertainment talent
  • Work with Operations to negotiate rates, contracts, and availability with entertainment vendors and independent contractors
  • Coordinate event setups, including staging, sound, lighting, and equipment needs
  • Plan and manage the calendar of entertainment and event programming across the property
  • Support Sales, F&B, Facilities, and Guest Experience teams to execute private events, corporate bookings, and brand activations
  • Serve as the main point of contact for performers, vendors, and clients before and during events
  • Conduct final walkthroughs and confirm setup matches the plan
  • Troubleshoot day-of issues with entertainment, equipment, or logistics
  • Track entertainment contracts, W-9s, and independent contractor agreements for compliance
  • Support post event follow up, including invoicing and performer feedback
Requirements:

What You Bring

  • Experience booking or managing DJs, bands, or live entertainment in a hospitality, nightlife, or event setting
  • Experience coordinating events from planning through execution
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills with performers and vendors
  • Familiarity with event management software, Tripleseat experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of independent contractor basics, including W-9s and contractor agreements
  • Ability to stay calm and solutions focused under pressure
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the event and entertainment schedule

Who You Are

You're a natural connector who knows great talent when you hear it and isn't afraid to make the call to book it. You're just as comfortable negotiating a DJ's rate as you are running an event day timeline, and you take pride in curating an entertainment lineup that fits the DSRT SURF vibe.

Current Work Environment

DSRT SURF is currently operating within an active growth and development environment. Team members may occasionally work around changing operational priorities, evolving business needs, events, and active hospitality environments.

Appropriate attire and adherence to all company standards and policies will be required while representing the brand.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout event spaces for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move event, staging, and AV equipment up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to work in outdoor and indoor environments, including sun, heat, and varying weather conditions
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the event and entertainment schedule

Compensation

This is a full-time, exempt salaried position. The anticipated compensation range for this role is $71,500-$75,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, skills, and business needs.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Surf privileges

Schedule Expectations

This is a full-time salaried position. This role is not a 9-to-5. Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and events is required based on operational needs. The Entertainment & Events Coordinator is expected to be present when the business needs them, not just during standard business hours.

Why DSRT SURF

This is an opportunity to help build something from the ground up where hospitality, lifestyle, and guest experience come together in a unique way. You'll play a key role in shaping the sound, energy, and entertainment lineup of DSRT SURF, with real room to grow into entertainment and events leadership as the brand scales.
