Job description

Role: Enterprise Solutions Architect

Location: Birmingham, AL (Hybrid Onsite 3 Days/Week)

Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire Opportunity

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Solutions Architect to support the design, development, and modernization of enterprise technology platforms. This role will focus on architecting scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions with an emphasis on open banking, API-driven architectures, cloud platforms, and modern application development practices.

The ideal candidate will bring deep experience designing enterprise solutions within complex environments, with strong expertise in AWS architecture, C#/.NET Core, API design patterns, OAuth security frameworks, and OpenShift/containerized platforms. This individual will partner closely with engineering, product, security, and business teams to define technical strategies, create architectural documentation, and deliver solutions aligned with enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop enterprise-level solution architectures supporting business-critical applications and digital platforms.

Lead architecture efforts for open banking initiatives, including API ecosystems, integration patterns, security frameworks, and third-party connectivity.

Define scalable cloud architectures leveraging AWS services and cloud-native design principles.

Develop and maintain detailed architectural documentation, including solution architecture diagrams, system integration diagrams, data flow diagrams, and technical design documentation.

Establish and promote enterprise architecture standards, patterns, and best practices.

Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams building solutions using C#/.NET Core and modern application frameworks.

Design and review RESTful API architectures, including API lifecycle management, integration patterns, authentication, and authorization models.

Apply security best practices utilizing OAuth, API security standards, identity management, and secure integration approaches.

Support application modernization initiatives leveraging OpenShift, containers, and cloud-native technologies.

Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to evaluate technical solutions and tradeoffs.

Analyze existing systems and recommend improvements to scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.

Provide architectural oversight throughout the software development lifecycle, from concept through implementation.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field

OR

Equivalent combination of education and enterprise architecture experience.

7+ years of experience in software engineering, application architecture, or enterprise solutions architecture.

Proven experience designing and implementing complex enterprise technology solutions.

Experience working within large-scale, highly regulated enterprise environments.

Required Technical Skills

Strong experience with AWS architecture and cloud-native solutions.

Deep expertise with C# and .NET Core application development frameworks.

Strong understanding of API design patterns, RESTful services, and enterprise integration architectures.

Experience implementing secure APIs utilizing OAuth 2.0, authentication, and authorization patterns.

Experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, containers, or cloud platform technologies.

Ability to create and communicate complex technical concepts through architectural design diagrams and documentation.

Experience defining solution architectures, technical standards, and enterprise design patterns.

Strong understanding of modern software development practices, DevOps principles, and CI/CD processes.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting open banking platforms, financial services APIs, or digital banking ecosystems.

Experience with enterprise integration platforms and API management solutions.

Experience working in banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
