Enterprise Management Tools Systems Engineer

The Digital Services Enterprise Tools Team requires an experienced systems engineer to perform system/application administration, maintenance and operation of the Enterprise Management Tools Suite used to monitor and manage our enterprise server and network infrastructure across multiple networks. Duties include monitoring tools system health, troubleshooting tools problems, adjusting thresholds, making required configuration changes, adding or deleting nodes/accounts/profiles, monitoring events/logs and supporting performance monitoring solutions and metrics reporting for web applications.

HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT


Must possess a solid understanding of event management, system/application health server operating system, agent and agentless monitoring, network, application and end-point performance, tuning and measurements. The candidate will ensure the COTS products function properly in a secure environment with PKI-based authentication, corporate authorization services, firewalls, and SSL/TLS communications.
Assist with testing and deploying hotfixes/patches/new releases of the tools suite.
Assist with development of knowledge articles, documentation, and work instructions used by the Tools Team and tools users.
WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience
Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI w/Poly

Required Skills and Abilities: Windows Server Administrator; Win Server 2016, 2019 or 2022, RHEL/Linux Server Administrator; RHEL 7x, 8x, or 9x, Network device (firewall/router/switch) system administration; Juniper/Junos, Cisco/IOS, Palo Alto, Brocade, Proficient with web application technologies (e.g., html, web servers, and application servers), Proficient in Linux/UNIX commands, Proficient in Windows Server OS, Must be a self-starter with strong attention to detail.
Preferred Skills: Application/System Admin experience with the OpenText Operations Bridge Suite including any of the following components/modules:

  • Operations Manager (Event Management)
  • Operations Bridge - Containerized
  • Operations Agent (OA)
  • Application Performance Management (APM)
  • SiteScope
  • Operations Orchestrator
  • OPTIC Data Lake
  • Business Process Monitor (BPM)
  • Operations Bridge Reporter (OBR)
  • Network Operations Management
    • Network Node Manager (NNM)
    • Network Automation (NA)
  • Application/System Admin experience with InMon Traffic Sentinel
  • Windows server OR RHEL server OR network firewall/router/switch (Juniper/PaloAlto/CISCO/Brocade) device system administration
  • Programming experience in Python, R, JavaScript, Perl or UNIX scripting is a plus.
  • Experience operating data analytics applications (Splunk OR Elastic ELK [Elasticsearch, Logstash, or Kibana]) Stack is a plus.
  • Strong organization, communication, and collaboration skills and be customer-focused and results oriented.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $127,500 - $172,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
