About the Role:

This position is being recruited in anticipation of a contract award. The Enterprise Integration Architect is responsible for the design, implementation, and governance of enterprise integration solutions connecting instructional, administrative, and business systems across the Department of War Education (DoWEA) Education Platform modernization initiative. This role provides technical leadership in developing secure, scalable, and interoperable integration architectures that enable seamless data exchange across enterprise applications, cloud platforms, and mission-critical systems.

Location:

  • Washington, DC Metropolitan Area (Hybrid)
  • Candidates must reside in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. This position follows a hybrid work schedule and requires onsite support at a Government-designated location in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Clearance Requirements:

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Applicants selected for this position must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a Government background investigation and all applicable security requirements.

Salary Range:

  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $80,000–$170,000 annually.
  • Final compensation has not yet been determined and will be based on factors including contract award, position requirements, the candidate's qualifications, experience, education, certifications, and geographic location.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain enterprise integration architectures supporting cloud-based and on-premises applications.
  • Develop and implement enterprise API strategies leveraging RESTful services, modern integration patterns, and industry interoperability standards.
  • Lead integration design and implementation activities across Student Information Systems (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Human Capital Management (HCM), and analytics platforms.
  • Establish integration governance frameworks, security standards, lifecycle management practices, and technical best practices.
  • Design and support data synchronization solutions, event-driven architectures, enterprise messaging, and integration workflows.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, application teams, data teams, cybersecurity teams, and Government stakeholders to define integration solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership during enterprise modernization, migration, and system transformation initiatives.
  • Evaluate emerging integration technologies and recommend solutions to improve scalability, reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure integration solutions comply with Federal cybersecurity, privacy, accessibility, and enterprise architecture standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of enterprise integration experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting the Department of War Education (DoWEA).
  • Experience designing API management strategies and enterprise middleware solutions.
  • Experience integrating large-scale enterprise applications and platforms.
  • Strong communication, technical leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
