Job description

NPC is seeking an experienced Chief Cloud Architect to support a large public-sector technology environment.
This role will focus heavily on the design, implementation, security, resiliency, and management of complex cloud and hybrid network infrastructure across Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on cloud networking expertise along with experience designing highly available, fault-tolerant, multi-region environments.
What You'll Do
  • Design, configure, and manage network infrastructure across AWS and Azure cloud environments.
  • Develop highly available and fault-tolerant cloud network architectures, including multi-region and multi-Availability Zone deployments.
  • Design resiliency, disaster recovery, business continuity, and automated failover solutions.
  • Implement hybrid cloud connectivity using AWS Transit Gateway and Azure ExpressRoute.
  • Provision and manage Megaport services, including Virtual Cross Connects (VXCs), for secure private connectivity between cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Design and optimize ingress and egress routing, traffic flow, path selection, and high-availability networking across distributed environments.
  • Deploy and manage AWS Elastic Load Balancing, Azure Load Balancer, and Azure Application Gateway.
  • Configure and manage virtual firewall solutions, including Palo Alto VM-Series, Cisco CSR 8000v, and native cloud security controls.
  • Implement AWS Security Groups, Azure Network Security Groups, Network Access Control Lists, and other network security controls.
  • Design VPC and VNet peering, hybrid connectivity, and multi-region or multi-cloud architectures.
  • Configure and manage Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) within cloud, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.
  • Apply secure network architecture, segmentation, access control, and compliance-aligned design practices.
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based network infrastructure, with significant AWS and Azure experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience designing highly available and resilient cloud network architectures, including failover, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience with AWS and Azure networking services, including Transit Gateway, ExpressRoute, routing, load balancing, and hybrid connectivity.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with Megaport, including Virtual Cross Connect provisioning and private cloud connectivity.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with network traffic engineering, routing optimization, network segmentation, firewall deployment, and secure connectivity design.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud and hybrid network security principles.
  • Experience supporting complex multi-cloud and distributed network environments.
Certification Requirement
Candidates must possess at least one of the following certifications:
  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Specialty
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate
What Success Looks Like
The successful candidate will be able to architect secure, resilient, and scalable cloud networking solutions across AWS, Azure, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments while improving availability, connectivity, traffic management, and overall network reliability.
