Job description

You'll become a critical part in how we successfully solve our clients' biggest challenges, deliver on promise, and innovate the client's physical/virtual infrastructure for the future. Our work depends on a Virtualization Engineer joining our team to support Government activities in Sterling, VA or Annapolis Junction, MD.

As a Virtualization Engineer supporting the Government, you will be responsible for physical/virtual platforms, server build deployments, server virtualization, hyperconverged platforms, etc.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Design and build virtual environment service models including Infrastructure-as-a-Service and Platform-as-a-Service.
  • Identify, design, and implement process improvements for the virtualization of and distribution of applications: automating manual processes, optimizing delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability Designs, implements, and maintains VMWare vSphere virtualization infrastructure, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and vSAN.
  • Analyze user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications Incorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations.
  • Develops system architecture and system design documentation Interacts with the Government regarding technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts
  • Responsible for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility.

Requirements

  • 10+ Years of experience in relevant field and a High School Diploma.
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM Proficiency in configuring and optimizing virtual machines, storage, and networking
  • Knowledge with configuration of virtual switches
  • VLANs VMware Certified Professional certification
