As the market share leader in exterior automotive lighting, NAL provides advanced lighting technology, engineering design expertise, and state-of-the-art production capabilities to auto makers based in North America and around the world.
Our Opportunity
North American Lighting (NAL) is looking for a Tooling Engineering Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will plan and direct the Tool Engineering function within the organization, including engineering, design, development, research, and all related personnel.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Your Priorities
  • Provides leadership, guidance, mentoring, and supervision of the Tooling Engineering staff.
  • Ensures that the Tooling Engineering group provides timely support to the engineering, manufacturing, and other functional departments on all assigned projects.
  • Ensures that the Tooling Engineers are following prototype build and tryout, production build and tryout, and approval for all new products in a timely manner.
  • Maintains a summary progress report of all projects and molds assigned to the department.
  • Attends tooling design reviews for molds and equipment, as well as TQIT, Mini-improvement, and training activities.
  • Manages overall departmental budgets and operations, including capital equipment.

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $145,500 per year. Final compensation will be determined by location, skills, experience, qualifications, and the career level at which the position is filled.
Requirements
Your Background
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Business, or a related discipline, plus 8 - 10 years of experience in tooling - including 3 or more years of experience in a supervisory or lead role.
Experience in Tool Engineering with automotive supplier manufacturing is preferred.
