Technology Project Manager:

Design West Engineering is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to be a part of our growing team based out of our Edmonds, Washington, office. As a Technology Project Manager at Design West Engineering, you will have the opportunity to apply your design expertise to exciting and challenging projects while working under the supervision of top engineers in the Architectural, Engineering and Construction industry.

The ideal candidate will possess 5+ years of experience as a Technology Project Manager with Revit and AutoCAD experience, have the ability to complete project designs in all stages of a project, have excellent communication and time management skills, work well in a team environment, be familiar with commonly used business codes, and be proficient with Microsoft Office.

This role offers a hybrid option, with three days of in-person work and two days of remote work.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Autodesk (AutoCAD and Revit), and Bluebeam Studio
  • BS in Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a Technology Project Manager in Technology Engineering for telecommunication systems, electronic security systems, and audiovisual systems.
  • Proficient in project design, with the ability to complete a full project design throughout all phases of the project (Schematic Design to Close Out)
  • Proven ability to manage 10+ projects at one time
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience completing Specs
  • Possess a working knowledge of Washington Building Codes, National Electrical Codes, and the ability to quickly identify and rectify code-issues within the design.
  • Demonstrate understanding of industry best practices pertaining to drawings, specifications, industry standards, and client requirements
  • Comfortable working in an office environment and performing job site inspections
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team.

  • Must have excellent time management skills to meet project deadlines.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of experience as a Project Manager in Technology Engineering
  • Proficiency in understanding the requirements of various government agencies
  • EIT/ PE License or demonstrated progress toward these goals.
  • RCDD Certificate
  • Construction Documents Technologist (CSI)
  • Experience with electronic security and/or audiovisual systems
  • Experience with other technology systems (i.e. nurse call, WiFi, cellular, DAS)
  • Ability to mentor and be a resource for junior team members and other design teams within Design West Engineering
  • Proven track record of innovation and development
  • Willingness to accept responsibilities outside of the job description

Job duties will include:

  • Research technical product information
  • Conduct and/or delegate job site inspections to determine existing conditions and the extent of progress made by contractors
  • Design, coordinate, and engineer systems per discipline (telecom, security, network, audiovisual, acoustics, Wi-Fi, etc.)
  • Prepare drawings, specifications, contract documents, and design calculations utilizing Revit and AutoCAD
  • Perform job site inspections to determine existing conditions and the extent of progress made by contractors
  • Provide support to the team, develop tools, improve processes, and share technical knowledge
  • Attend and contribute to internal team, discipline, and project meetings
  • Work on projects for the continuous improvement of the firm and design practice
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned

Targeted Compensation:

  • $90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience
