Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for managing the successful execution of subsea engineering projects for the delivery of electro-mechanical systems that meet project requirements within the contracted schedule and budget constraints.


Duties And Responsibilities
  • Manage projects consistent with Oceaneering values and guidelines with respect to safety, quality, and business ethics.
  • Apply knowledge of project management competencies to manage the core elements of a project's integration, scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, communications, risks, procurement and stakeholders in order to meet project requirements, demonstrating proficiency in both the knowledge and application of these skills.
  • Apply knowledge of subsea engineering, communication, leadership, management, cognitive abilities, effectiveness, and professionalism to lead the project team in meeting objectives, demonstrating proficiency in both the knowledge and application of these skills.
  • Lead a diverse team of engineers, drafters, designers, technicians, machinists, consultants, administrative and other personnel, and assigns tasks as guided by the project plan, setting and communicating clear expectations.
  • Autonomously facilitate and operationalize projects to achieve established departmental and organizational goals, while considering all appropriate stakeholders.
  • Briefings & Presentations
    • Lead monthly internal presentations with the OTECH team covering the status of all project operations.
  • Reporting & Summarization
    • Weekly prepare a summary of activities and a consolidated overview for Program/Portfolio Manager
  • Communications & Coordination
    • Manage a cohesive calendar that tracks project milestones and major Out-of-Office (OoO) periods.
    • Support purchasing activities, including purchase request generation, issuance tracking, and PO tracking to ensure timely procurement and alignment with project needs.
  • CDRL Tracking & Deliverables Management
    • Serve as the single point of contact for tracking and managing all CDRL items.
    • Ensure timely submission by gathering inputs and coordinating with responsible parties.
  • Security & Documentation
    • Demonstrate working knowledge of portion marking and handling of security-classified documentation in accordance with applicable policies.
    • Handle data transfers to potential guest networks in accordance with approved protocols.
  • Project & Financial Planning Support
    • Possess a basic understanding of Microsoft Project, including critical path.
    • Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and attend financial forecasting meetings.
  • Understand financial forecasting impacts, including labor hours, burn rates, and open commitments.
  • Develop and lead in project management planning including but not limited to: scope identification, budget planning, resource planning, and fiscal accountability, and ongoing communication and collaboration with team members. Independently prepares written documents, delegates tasks as necessary, and monitors and analyzes progress.
  • Recommend sequences for actions, procurement and purchases and coordinates necessary meetings to ensure the timely delivery of products and services. Facilitate work across project teams, develop a project schedule, lead meetings to track progress, manages and mitigates project risks, troubleshoots problems as they arise, and directly manages assigned component projects and develop solutions to barriers and challenges to success in order to deliver projects on time, within budget and scope, and with a keen focus on effective and consistent communication.
  • Interface and collaborate with key stakeholders throughout project development, planning and execution. Autonomously assess the need for disseminating and retrieving information and communicate with all organizational levels as necessary.
  • Compile and synthesize complex data, analyze outcomes, and prepare reports for ongoing process and outcome review for senior management.
  • Responsible for the research and data compilation from a variety of internal and external resources to provide support for research, proposals, reporting, recognition and regulatory compliance.
  • Reports include but are not limited to: graphical representations of data, oral presentations, written reports, and visual presentations.
  • Ensure that team members meet deadlines and task budgets.
  • Support the company's objective of continuous improvement by reviewing, incorporating and contributing to lessons learned, and suggesting changes to process and procedure in-order-to improve the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of execution.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, with a major in an Engineering discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 4-7 years of relevant work experience.
  • PMP/CAPM Certification or achieved within 3 years.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain security clearance.
  • Technical writing and editing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Prior subsea engineering project management experience desired.
  • Ability to interact with customer representatives.
  • Ability to support technical reviews of various documentation and other project deliverables.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Strong skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of P6, EVMS, MS Project, Contract Comprehension, FAR/DFAR, CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.

Additional Information

This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
