QISG is seeking a driven Engineering Project Manager to support major power-generation projects in our Birmingham office. This role plays a key part in large-scale EPC initiatives across the power sector, including gas turbines, renewables, battery energy storage systems (BESS), substations, and transmission systems. You will lead the planning, design, and execution of critical infrastructure projects, ensuring they are technically sound, efficiently delivered, and seamlessly integrated across all engineering disciplines.
The Engineering Project Manager delivers technical leadership and engineering support across the full project lifecycle, partnering closely with field operations, customer account teams, procurement, and key stakeholders. This role drives all engineering and design activities for design-build/EPC projects while managing contract requirements, coordinating multidisciplinary engineering deliverables, guiding procurement strategies, and ensuring alignment of schedules, budgets, and technical specifications. Construction oversight is supported as needed, but the primary emphasis is on engineering execution and technical project management.
What You'll Do
  • Lead technical strategy and execution across the full project lifecycle, serving as the engineering lead and project manager for complex EPC initiatives.
  • Oversee multidisciplinary engineering deliverables and review/approve technical documents from subcontractors and internal teams.
  • Ensure all engineering work meets company, client, and quality standards.
  • Manage engineering resources, staffing, and overall project performance.
  • Oversee subcontractor and supplier scope, pricing, scheduling, and invoice approvals.
  • Mentor, train, and develop engineering staff.
  • Support business development through client meetings and proposal input.
  • Drive innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement in engineering processes.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and integrity.
  • Stay current with industry trends and integrate relevant innovations into project designs.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support project and organizational success.

What You'll Bring
  • Strong technical expertise across process, structural, civil, mechanical, piping, and electrical engineering disciplines.
  • Deep knowledge of engineering and construction standards, industry codes, and regulations (ANSI, ASTM, ACI, AISC, IEEE, NEC, NESC).
  • Solid understanding of project design workflows and the full EPC lifecycle.
  • Proficient in scheduling, contracts, risk mitigation, and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Experienced with project controls, estimating, and cost/quality management.
  • Skilled at interpreting complex business issues and recommending effective, data-driven solutions.
  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to implement engineering innovations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal oversight.
