Responsibilities include:
  • Partnering with extended software development teams to help plan, track, and execute complex, cross-organizational programs while maintaining focus on building the right capabilities at high levels of quality and technical rigor.
  • Driving program execution by unblocking progress, organizing work, simplifying execution, and helping teams make effective tradeoffs across scope, schedule, and dependencies.
  • Participating in technical planning and design discussions to understand system architecture, coordinate development across teams, and manage dependencies.
  • Performing program analysis, managing risk, identifying and influencing necessary course corrections, and communicating program status and activities across all levels of management.
  • Using data and program insights to measure outcomes, visualize progress, and support informed decision-making.
  • Continuously assessing and improving development workflows and planning practices, and driving execution discipline through structured problem-solving.

Minimum Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.

Additional Qualifications
  • Experience with commercial software products and the software development lifecycle
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and tenacious
  • Adaptable and able to deal with uncertainty, ambiguity, and change
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence
  • Ability to influence others even when you have no direct line of authority over them
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data to drive improvements in product quality and software development processes
  • Interest in applying emerging tools such as AI-assisted development platforms and copilots to improve development workflows
  • Technical degree in Engineering, Math, or Science

You may be a strong fit if you enjoy connecting ideas across teams and helping bring complex technical initiatives to life. Prior program management experience is not required-many successful Program Managers at MathWorks have grown into this role from engineering and other technical paths.
