Primary Job Duties

In order to maintain our exceptional reputation for reliability, we need a dedicated Network Engineer who is responsible for the architecture, installation, configuration, and maintenance of all enterprise networking infrastructure.  Also included in this role are the monitoring and tuning of network bandwidth, redundancy, and disaster recover planning and configuration. Install, configure, and support networking hardware and software throughout the company by:

  • Monitor company networks and trouble-shoot problems as assigned
  • Perform upgrades to network equipment and operating systems as assigned
  • Provide off-hours support as required to maintain the availability of key systems and services
  • Travel to company locations as needed to install, support, and repair networking equipment
  • Identify and suggest system security for all networking solutions to the Manager of Network Engineering
  • May be assigned responsibilities specific to a particular networking area such as firewalls, VPN’s, switches, routers, remote access equipment, internet filters, proxy servers, Voice over IP, Radio over IP, etc
  • Provides Level 2 support to help-desk personnel
  • On call 24x7

Minimum Requirements
  • Two plus years of network administration in a corporate environment
  • At least one year of experience with the Cisco IOS
  • Solid understanding of local and wide-area network concepts, protocols, and addressing
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to create and maintain system diagrams with Microsoft Visio

Physical and Other Requirements
  • Ability to lift 60+ pounds consistently with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • This is a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position
