This is currently a volunteer position. Contributors will gain hands-on experience building real-world AI systems for public health impact.

About the Role

This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity for early-career engineers interested in gaining hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications for social impact in healthcare and public health.

Commitment

  • 3โ€“6 hours per week
  • Remote
  • Flexible schedule

Qualifications

  • 1โ€“3 years software engineering experience (or strong portfolio)
  • 6โ€“12 months experience working with LLM APIs or relevant projects
  • Strong Python skills
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering and basic RAG preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in chatbot development
  • Support prompt engineering and testing
  • Help build and test RAG pipelines
