This is currently a volunteer position. Contributors will gain hands-on experience building real-world AI systems for public health impact.
About the Role
This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity for early-career engineers interested in gaining hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications for social impact in healthcare and public health.
Commitment
- 3–6 hours per week
- Remote
- Flexible schedule
Qualifications
- 1–3 years software engineering experience (or strong portfolio)
- 6–12 months experience working with LLM APIs or relevant projects
- Strong Python skills
- Familiarity with prompt engineering and basic RAG preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist in chatbot development
- Support prompt engineering and testing
- Help build and test RAG pipelines
- Contribute to documentation
- Collaborate with senior engineers
