Job Description

Weย areย seekingย aย collaborativeย and proactiveย Civil Engineeringโ€ฏProject Managerโ€ฏinโ€ฏPetaluma, CAโ€ฏto manage and driveย land development andย infrastructureย projects to successful completion. This role is designed for a proficient civil engineering professional who excels in both engineering and project management.ย 

As a Project Manager at KPFF, you willย play a key roleย onย our team andย be responsible forย managing projects, leading internal design teams, andย interfacingย withย clientsย and project stakeholders.ย ย Theย role requires the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people, be a self-starter and adeptย atย problem-solving, andย have a strong commitment toย deliveringย quality work.ย 

Your responsibilities will include:ย 

  • Projectย Managementย of multipleย site development and/or infrastructureย projects.ย 

  • Collaboratingย with Project Stakeholders: Play a lead role on projects including interfacingย with clients, internal and external project teams.ย 

  • Provide Technical Expertise and Oversight:ย Overseeย civilย engineering design and calculations, ensuring accuracy,ย qualityย and compliance with industry standards,ย best practices,ย building codes, and regulatory requirements. Direct teams in the preparation ofย civil engineeringย drawings, specifications, and technical reports.ย 

  • Mentor and Lead Project Teams: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members, fostering professional growth and a collaborative project environment. Delegate tasks effectively whileย maintainingย high standardsย of quality.ย 

  • Manage Projectย Scope,ย Schedules, Budgets, and Resources: Develop andย maintainย project schedules,ย prepare work plans,ย track project budgets, andย allocateย resources efficiently to ensure project milestones are achieved.

Qualifications

Qualificationsย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Civil Engineering.ย 

  • At leastย 8ย years of relevant experience inย civil engineeringย designย with increasing responsibility including project management,ย with a focusย onย site developmentย projectsย 

  • Professional Engineer (PE) licenseย in California.ย 

  • Proficiencyย in AutoCADย andย Civil 3D.ย ย ย 

  • Experience with sustainable design practices, meeting Low Impact Development (LID) and hydromodification, and the ability to prepare drainage reports and stormwater control plans.ย 

  • Demonstrated experience inย managingย project schedules,ย scopeย andย budgets; and preparing project work plans.ย 

  • In-depth understanding of civil engineering principles, codes, andย industryย best-practices,ย includingย familiarity with various local municipalitiesย permitting requirements.ย 

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilitiesย and collaboration skills.ย ย ย 

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.ย ย ย 

  • Ability to manage multiple active projects concurrently.ย 

  • Knowledge of codes, regulations, and standards applicable to the design and construction of major site development projects in California.โ€ฏย

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer, reviewing plans, orย attending meetings.ย

The base salary for this role is competitive, with a rangeย ofโ€ฏ$100,000 - $150,000,ย determinedย by experience, education, and skills.
