L3Harris Integrated Vision Solutions, a leading designer and manufacturer of laser, night vision, and electro-optic devices, is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager for a small team of systems engineers and engineering technicans. ย As a member of our fast-paced, product-development team you will provide systems engineering leadership and hands on technical expertise to support the development of military systems.ย 

As a Systems Engineer Manager, you will contribute directly to the design and development of military systems as well as manage a small team of system engineers and engineering technicians. In this role you will be responsible for the complete development lifecycle, leading systems engineering from defining system level requirements through product release to production.ย You will be a key contributor in defining system level architecture and designing for efficiency, reuse and manufacturability.

You will lead the team in best practices, staff to meet project needs, conduct performance evaluations and support career development. This role requires an energetic and motivated individual with strong communication, organization, and technical skills who works well in a multi-disciplinary team.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform engineering trade studies on existing product technologiesย 
  • Translate requirements into system design architecture by providing systemsย engineering guidance for multidisciplinary design teams (i.e., sensors, optics, mechanics, firmware, electronics)ย 
  • Provide in-depth technical engineering analysisย 
  • Researchย and write System Specifications for new systemsย 
  • Support system build, integration, debugging and testing (hands-on product development)ย 
  • Support transition from prototype to production
  • Support all engineering design gate reviews ( System Requirements Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review)
  • Recruit and staff appropriate skillsets to meet forecasted business needs
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support career development
  • Support proposals with concept designs and estimates
  • Support, train, and/or mentor other team members in best practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with ELM/DOORS requirementย 
  • Excellent written and oral communicationsย 
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, or highly regulated technology environments.
  • Experience with full product lifecycle, including transition to production and sustainment.
  • Knowledge of optical systems, image processing, or embedded real time systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to build high-performing engineering teams and shape organizational capabilities.
