Job description

This role is a technical and practice area manager within our Aviation Group and coordinates work with Project Managers to assign technical resources on projects in a manner that positively impacts the business and employee experience. This role has responsibility to ensure direct reports' utilization and billable rates are acceptable. Work at this level is characterized also by working on complex airport projects and maintaining client relationships. This role functions as a technical design lead on projects as well as the technical discipline manager for an assigned geographical region and reports directly to the Aviation Practice Leader.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages and provides engineering production leadership for a geographic region within the aviation market, facilitating a collaborative work environment and advancing initiatives that support a positive employee experience.
  • Serves as subject matter expert for airport design and planning projects. Provides technical consulting on program objectives and requirements.
  • As needed, provides technical input with proposals and Project Management Plans to provide accurate estimates for projects or programs.
  • Operates as a technical lead as required for larger or complex airport projects.
  • Reviews operational procedures to ensure compliance with applicable policies and performance measures.
  • Reviews and provides feedback to engineer's specifications, documents, drawings, plans, and reports. May complete these items if needed.
  • Responsible for completion and delivery of engineering documents and bid packages within assigned geographical region.
  • Attends meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments.
  • Works to reduce department projects costs to drive competitive status.
  • Develops and builds positive relationships with clients, direct reports, officials, contractors, and others.
  • Supports and implements strategic and business planning activities.
  • Attends various leadership meetings.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
