This position is a direct hire opportunity!
Integrity Trade Services is hiring a Cost Estimating Engineer for our manufacturing client to start immediately up to $90K/annually DOE! Receive comprehensive benefits through our client upon hire!
Responsibilities:
The Cost Estimating Engineer prepares accurate product quotations and provides technical design assistance for standard and custom-engineered products. This position connects Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Product Management by converting customer requirements into practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable solutions.
  • Review customer specifications, engineering drawings, product configurations, and application requirements to develop accurate quotations.
  • Evaluate materials, labor, product configurations, and manufacturing methods to determine overall product costs.
  • Work with Sourcing and Procurement to obtain supplier pricing and assess vendor quotations.
  • Develop and maintain cost models, pricing calculations, quotation records, and supporting documentation.
  • Recommend cost-reduction and value-enhancement opportunities while preserving product quality and performance.
  • Verify that quotations meet company pricing standards, lead-time expectations, and profitability goals.
  • Support timely quote completion, pricing accuracy, and margin objectives.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, schematics, bills of materials, and product specifications.
  • Assess designs for manufacturability, feasibility, reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Provide support for custom product development, prototype reviews, testing, and pre-production engineering activities.
  • Partner with Design Engineering to suggest design changes that improve value, manufacturability, and cost.
  • Provide technical information to Sales, Operations, and customer-facing teams regarding product capabilities and configurations.
  • Support engineering change implementation and assist with minimizing costs related to design changes and quotation errors.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Product Management to align customer requirements, product design, and cost objectives.
  • Participate in project reviews, design meetings, and quotation discussions.
  • Help address technical and commercial concerns throughout the quoting and order fulfillment processes.
  • Contribute to standardization and process improvement initiatives across engineering and quoting functions.
  • Support effective project execution, customer responsiveness, and cross-functional communication.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records related to quotations, cost analyses, design reviews, product data, and engineering activities.
  • Assist with developing and updating technical documentation and spare parts information.
  • Use ERP, engineering, business intelligence, and workflow management systems to improve efficiency and data quality.
  • Apply Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, and automation tools to enhance quoting and engineering workflows.
  • Identify ways to improve quoting accuracy, engineering productivity, product configuration management, and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in value engineering and cost-optimization projects.
  • Help establish and implement best practices for estimating, design reviews, quotation development, and product configuration.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Value Engineer I
  • Two or more years of experience in mechanical product design, manufacturing engineering, estimating, quotation development, or a related technical position.

Value Engineer II
  • Three to five years of experience in mechanical product design, manufacturing engineering, estimating, quotation development, or a related technical position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Solid understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to interpret CAD models, schematics, bills of materials, and product specifications.
  • Experience with cost estimating, pricing strategies, and value engineering practices.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and production techniques.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to balance engineering requirements with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Experience with ERP and engineering systems, such as SAP, Teamcenter, Siemens NX, or comparable platforms.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business intelligence applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple departments and manage shifting priorities.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, and workflow automation tools preferred.
