Engineering Manager plans, directs, and coordinates product and manufacturing engineering activities within an engineering project. They need to possess a unique set of skills that combine technical expertise with people management skills.

Essential Functions
  • Research and develop designs and products.
  • Determine the need for training and talent development.
  • Hire contractors and build teams.
  • Ensure products have the support of upper management.
  • Provide clear and concise instructions to engineering teams.
  • Lead research and development projects that produce modern designs, products, and processes.
  • Check the teamโ€™s work for accuracy.
  • Coordinate work with other managers and staff.
Preferred Skills
  • Print and specification reading and interpretation and creation using AutoCAD Inventor.
  • Strong Mechanical aptitude; Process Improvement mindset, Analyzing Information.
  • Verbal Communication; Informing Others, Continual Improvement, Mindfulness, and Thoroughness. Dealing with Complexity; Statistics, Lean workplace, General knowledge of manufacturing and Machining practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in engineering or engineering Technology preferred. Relevant job experience in lieu of Engineering Degree acceptable.
  • 3+ years in product engineering with management experience, automotive/fastener experience preferred.
