Collaborating with machinists and engineers can also help resolve technical issues quickly, ensuring engines meet performance and reliability standards.

Job description

Come join VisitorsCoverage, one of Silicon Valley's most successful InsurTech companies, certified as a Great Place to Work®!

We are looking for a full-time SEO Manager (Content) to join our Marketing team. In this role, you'll own our organic search strategy and drive meaningful traffic growth through a combination of hands-on SEO execution and high-quality, consumer-focused content creation. You'll be the person who lives in SEMrush and Ahrefs in the morning and can write a compelling, search-optimized blog post in the afternoon — someone who is equally fluent in keyword research and storytelling.

If you thrive in a fast-paced, execution-focused environment, geek out on search engine algorithm updates, and take pride in writing content that actually ranks — we want to hear from you.

This is a hybrid position (4 days in office, 1 day remote). We are located in Santa Clara, California, and are looking for local candidates only.

Candidates with authorization to work in the US only.

What We Do:

VisitorsCoverage is an Insurtech company, located in the heart of Silicon Valley, revolutionizing the way travelers search, compare, purchase, and manage their travel insurance. Imagine a place where buying travel insurance is as easy as ordering an item from your favorite online retailer. You know exactly what the benefits are and what each word on the coverage document means, and you are able to zip through the checkout process. We are obsessed with simplifying Travel Insurance! We wake up everyday thinking of new ways to meet the same expectations that users have from their online retailers and delivery or streaming services. We are a team of people who counter the thought that insurance is boring and love the challenge of delighting our users at every step of their decision-making process.

If this sounds like the perfect role and workplace for you, we encourage you to apply for this position! VisitorsCoverage is on a mission to hire only the best, and we are committed to providing exceptional employee experiences with meaningful work and true work/life balance.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

SEO (~70%)

  • Own and execute the organic search strategy end-to-end — keyword research, competitor analysis, content gap identification, and rank tracking
  • Conduct in-depth keyword research using SEMrush, Ahrefs, and Google Search Console to identify high-impact opportunities and build a strategic content roadmap
  • Perform regular content audits to ensure existing content is accurate, optimized, updated, and relevant; proactively identify and resolve duplicate content, broken links, and rendering issues
  • Partner with thought leadership to grow VisitorsCoverage’s LLM citation footprint with earned mentions
  • Apply on-page SEO best practices across all content — H1/H2 structure, meta titles and descriptions, internal linking, FAQ optimization, and URL structure
  • Stay current on SEO trends, AI SEO tools (e.g., TryProfound), algorithm changes, and emerging search behaviors (GEO/AEO) to keep VisitorsCoverage's content strategy competitive
  • Technical SEO Expertise: Proficiency in handling technical SEO elements including Schema markup, JSON LD, XML sitemaps, and complex site architectures.
  • Provide monthly performance reports using GA4, SEMrush, and Ahrefs, translating data into clear, actionable insights for the broader marketing team
  • Monitor click performance, keyword rankings, and organic impressions; develop optimization recommendations based on trends

Content Creation (~30%)

  • Write high-quality, engaging, consumer-focused content including blog posts, articles, press releases, email newsletters, video scripts, case studies, and LinkedIn posts — with SEO baked in from the start
  • Create and maintain a streamlined quarterly content calendar aligned to business goals and organic growth targets
  • Partner with and delegate content assignments to an in-house Content Specialist and a network of external freelance writers — providing clear briefs, editorial direction, and quality oversight to ensure all content meets VisitorsCoverage's standards before publication
  • Publish and QA all content in WordPress and our proprietary CMS; troubleshoot rendering or technical issues post-publication
  • Perform quality control on all published content; serve as the final editor before anything goes live
  • Brainstorm new content ideas with the broader marketing team, grounding ideation in keyword data and audience insights
  • Manage press releases via partner sites and agencies
  • Potential opportunity to oversee a content specialist

Required Skills:

  • 3–5 years of hands-on SEO experience with a strong working knowledge of content marketing; internship experience does not count toward YOE
  • Deep fluency in SEO tools — SEMrush, Ahrefs, and Google Search Console are non-negotiables
  • Proven track record of driving organic traffic growth through keyword research, on-page optimization, and content strategy
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills — you take pride in the craft and can write compelling content for an everyday consumer audience (not B2B)
  • Working knowledge of on-page and light technical SEO — H1 structure, meta data, internal linking, schema markup, crawlability basics
  • Hands-on experience with WordPress CMS; HTML/CSS knowledge a strong plus
  • Fluency in GA4 and Google Search Console for performance tracking and reporting
  • Smart AI tool usage — comfortable using Claude, ChatGPT, or similar tools for research, brainstorming, and workflow efficiency; final content should be meaningfully human-written
  • Consumer-facing content background required — experience writing for everyday consumers in industries such as travel, e-commerce, DTC, personal finance, or health/wellness
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate independently in a lean team environment

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field
  • Experience in a startup or small team environment strongly preferred
  • Experience in international or multilingual content marketing is a plus
  • B2C content background required; candidates with exclusively B2B content backgrounds will not be considered

Salary range: $100,000 - $140,000. Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications.

Benefits

  • 100% company paid individual medical, dental, & vision insurance coverage
  • Pet insurance
  • Paid parental leave
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Paid time off for annual charity or volunteer work
  • Generous paid time off
  • Fitness/Wellness gym stipend
  • Great work-life balance
